One Big, Happy Family

I got to meet my first MRBA member face to face today. Since we were in his neck of the woods, Old Bopper dropped by where my husband and I were having lunch and said hello and chatted a bit. Even though I’ve seen pictures of him it is good talking to someone in person.

I know several of you have written about the MRBA in your blogs. I guess this is my version. And for those of you who don’t know, MRBA stands for Marshall Ramsey Blogaholics Anonymous.

Of course Marshall is the head of the household. I can’t say “grandfather” cause that just sounds old. Godfather maybe?!! Boss? Anyway, it’s his blog. He can be whatever he wants to be. He’s an amazing artist with the wit to make his cartoons Pulitzer Prize material. Seriously. He’s been nominated twice.

I kind of look to OldBopper as the father figure of the blog. And LegalEagle would be our mom. Not an age thing now guys. They just have that parental type of advice and knowledge they always share with us. But now at times, Eagle is more like Peg Bundy than June Cleaver!

There are many brothers, sisters, cousins, and friends.

DHCoop is our motivator. The blog tends to drag when she’s not around.

Supermom, Clucky and Stacey are the witty sisters. You never know what those girls will come up with! Watercolor is the creative, thought provoking sis. Cardinallady is like the independent big sister coming and going all the time. Sounds like she has the most interesting job.

JB (tnmsu) is our little brother because he’s always picking and trying to start a fight. But we love him…just like a little brother. He’s also a former pastor and still keeps pulling out those corny pastor’s jokes.

MSUDEERE would be our loving big brother who is always keeping an eye out for us and defending his sisters when necessary. And Chas3r is our little brother that we have to keep an eye on!

Beninthejack and Reximusaugustus are like twin sons of different mothers. They keep us laughing. Sometimes their humor goes right over my head though…

Choclablover is our spunky little sis. She speaks her mind. She also shares her struggles of infertility in the most heartfelt way.

MMrsH and Mark are our level headed ones. It’s a good thing. We need them!

Bloggerman is the prodigal son that pops in and out. You never know when he’ll show up!

Grammargirl is our inspiration and hero. She’s a breast cancer survivor and prods us all to get our yearly check-up and mammogram.

We’ve got military, photographers, MSU fans and Ole Miss fans. And many more cousins and friends that join us daily or just drop in every now and then. It’s way too many to name personally plus I don’t want to forget someone and offend them!

Like I said, we’re just one big, happy family. Well, usually. Just don’t offend BonsaiPig!

LOL! You are crazy! BonsaiPig. I can't believe you thought to add that! hahhahaha Bless ben's heart! :)

Thank you for the spunky lil sis comment! That's hilarious. I always wonder, WHAT DO these people think of ME? heh! I try to NOT speak my mind so much because I really do NOT want to offend anyone.. I apoligize NOW if I EVER do, I wouldn't want to hurt your feelings, EVER! Nor, have you on my bad side! heh!

Saw your pic, you LOOK GREAT! DO NOT TALK YOURSELF DOWN! Its a MAJOR fete that you have conquered!

Sorry I didn't get to meet you, I didn't want to say I would be able to get there when I didn't even know if we were going to be here. Bobby & I spent most of the day together, just us until about 1pm. WE needed that. :) NEXT TIME FOR SURE!

LOVE & HUGS! ;0) ~the spunky one

This is a great tribute, tank! I appreciate being thought of as a motivator, although there are several MRBA that fit that title.

I love our MRBA family so very much!

And, if we can't get on the blog soon, serious withdrawal will set in!

fine with me. Can you imagine her surprise when she gets home from school today and sees all the comments.

I just forwarded the last e-mail to Ben & Rexi. We'll see if they take part.

tank works, I think you are thinking of dhsturd being at school

dhcoop said...

I'm trying to see who else I have an email for that I can spread the word. I know I have bellasara but she's a teacher too and won't see it till this evening.

Hey I'm level headed too. Thanks for calling me little though. I haven't been called that in a while.

I got an email from Chas that said it was back up, but I'm still getting the error message that the network is down.

Thank you for thinking I have enough sense to be Mom! Peg Bundy would be correct! Blogger hasn't let me on lately, so I'm going to try to out buffalo this thing. I hate it when the computer thinks it has more sense than I do.

Mrs.H said...

I just got a reply from Ben and directed him here.
I'm still getting the error message, too.

Yes, I will be coming that way on Friday. I hope to get to see most of you. Hopefully, we'll get access to the CL site soon and work out some details (with Bopper's help, of course.)

LOL!!! Y'all are so crazy! Yes, my inbox is filling up. My co-worker is out though so I'm having to work today!

And no, I can't get into MR's blog yet either.

Mrs.H said...

Tank, I think you can turn the notification off for the rest of the day!!

dhcoop said...

Yeah, I thought about that tank! I figured if you had your notification feature turned on, you'd be getting slammed with emails fairly quickly!

I'm having lunch with my eldest who is home from school for fall break. I'm not sure where we'll go.

dhcoop said...

Does anyone have an email address for Watercolor? Someone needs to let her know what's going on.

I'm about to go get a fresh loaf of bread and some mayo to make a sammich. :)

Oh, and let me just say MORNIN!

BonsaiPig is not happy this morning. BonsaiPig thinks the market stinks worsethan the sty.

OINK!

This is fun. Like cyber hide and seek.

Also, thanks Tank for calling me an inspiration. With all my huge flaws, that I would or could inspire anyone is amazing to me. And if I get just one person, which I believe I already have, to get her mammogram, I've succeeded in what I set out to do when I found out I had the big "C", so thanks to y'all for helping me realize a goal.

Mrs.H said...

She's a facebook friend.
let me see if I can get her a message that way.

dhcoop said...

jb, very funny dude!

To answer your question, I'd prefer to blog to keep the number of emails we are shooting around to a mininum.

However, I know Clucky can't access this blog from work without fear of firing. I told her I could channel her.

I love a fried chicken!!! he!

Mrs.H said...

Don't you think it's amazing the lengths we are willing to go to, to stay connected?

dhcoop said...

Yes, MrsH. I believe that's why some time back we designated ourselves "blogerholics".

tank said...

Almost lunch time and I still don't know what I want. Got to run to Penney's so it'll be whatever is by the mall...which isn't a big selection.

dhcoop said...

OHOHOH When coming thru downtown yesterday going to the fair, I saw where there is a "Wingstop" or something going in right up the street from my office!

msudeere said...

Love the tribute tank,,, you really put it all in words

CluckyRN said...

The elusive cluckster will become a reclusive cluckster if y'all keep talking about fried chicken and wins!!! LOL

cardinallady said...

alright cardinal has finally found your site.

How sweet Tank! thanks for the tribute about our family.

I miss getting to talk to everkybody, glad somebody had the fortitude to commandeer a temporary police car. LOL

cardinallady said...

In the discussion about carrier pigeons got this offer ....

BonsaiPig offers "Carrier Swine" to be added to the list of available
transportation methods.

Tank, what a nice description of the MRBA! I think you pegged everybody with some sort of role.

I don't mind being the father figure as long as you folks stay out of my wallet. Our two daughters almost broke me before I finally got them weaned of the money tit.

Hope those of us in this area can get together Friday for lunch. Glad MrsH will be able to make it.

Finally got over here to read. Fun!! Great job on the descriptions!
